Child Development Center Playground, JBPHH, Hawaii

Project Description:

This design-build project included the installation of playground equipment and new landscaping at the Child Development Center (CDC) on Peltier Avenue, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), Hawaii. Three new playgrounds for various ages were constructed for this project, including climbing and shade structures and vinyl fencing with access gates to separate the various play ages and enclose the grass area between the existing buildings and the CDC. Playgrounds and corresponding shade structures were constructed for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers along with safety surfacing and access pathways to each structure. In addition, two sandboxes, a trellis, two picnic tables, and two storage sheds were constructed. Landscaping included grass, plants, trees, and modifications to the existing irrigation system.
